2 Manila barangays miss deadline for road inventories

Two village executives in the nation’s capital will undergo investigation after they failed to submit their respective road inventories, the local government of Manila bared.

According to Julius Leonen, Chief of the Manila Public Information Office, two barangays out of 896 barangays in Manila failed to meet the deadline of the submission of inventory last August 13.

“The deadline for the submission of the road inventories was on August 13, Tuesday. Out of 896 barangays, only two failed to comply,” Leonen said.

“This matter has already been forwarded to the Manila City Legal Office for the determination of filing of appropriate cases,” he added.

However, he did not identify the actual barangays because they are still conducting an investigation.

Marikina City’s local government was first to comply with the Department of Interior and Local Governments (DILG) order to clear roads and sidewalks of obstructions for 60 days to make sure the streets are safe and clean for the public.
