Malabon City Mayor Lenlen Oreta said he will endorse all city residents to the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) social amelioration program as he expressed that everyone is affected by the impact of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak.

“COVID-19 spares no one, rich or poor. Every family deserves aid from the government in these extraordinary times. No one should be left behind,” Oreta said in a statement.

With only about 44,032 slots allotted by the DSWD for the said program to the city, Oreta believes that it is not enough since there are now some 86,000 families in the city. He instructed all his officials from the 21 barangays to update their database of families so he can endorse a master list of all families to avail of the national government’s program.

“[This is] to ensure a comfortable life for all Malabonian families under enhanced community quarantine,” the Malabon public information office said in a statement.
