Malabon City will construct a spillway to alleviate flooding in Barangay Panghulo.

The spillway will be built at the Panghulo Pumping Station which will drain floodwater to the Pinagkabalian River.

Malabon City Mayor Antolin “Lenlen” Oreta III signed a memorandum of agreement with officials of BNM7210 Group of Corporations, who represented the Department of Public Works and Highways on Wednesday.

The spillway will be built to minimize flooding around Barangay Panghulo, which is one of the problem areas in the city, said Malabon City Chief Public Information Officer Bong Padua.

Construction of the spillway will start anytime soon, Padua added.

“Kami po ay nakikiisa sa pagsasaayos ng spillway para mas maging maginhawa ang pamumuhay ng bawat Pamilyang Malabonian lalo na ngayong tag-ulan (We will participate in building the spillway so that each resident in Malabon will live more comfortably especially now during the rainy season),” Oreta said in a Facebook post.

“Patuloy po tayong magtulungan at magkaisa para sa ikauunlad at mas ikagaganda ng ating lungsod (Let us continue to work together and cooperate with one another for the betterment of our city,” he added.
