Makati receives 10,000 PPEs from IATF

Makati City received 10,000 personal protective equipment (PPEs) and 9,000 test kits from the Inter-Agency Task Force on the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF).

Mayor Abigail “Abby” Binay and other LGU officials personally accepted the donations from the IATF members at the Makati City Hall.

She thanked the IATF for their donations that will help the city government in its battle against COVID-19.

“Thank you to IATF and DOH (Department of Health) for donating PPEs and testing kits,” the mayor wrote on her verified Facebook account.

The mayor urged the public to continue practicing social distancing, wearing face masks, and obeying the guidelines of the IATF. “The fight against COVID-19 isn’t over yet. Be safe, everyone.”

Prior to the turnover, the mayor led a discussion of the COVID-19 plans of the LGU with officials of the IATF.

Present at the meeting and turnover were IATF Chief Implementer Sec. Carlito Galvez, IATF Deputy Chief Implementer Vivencio Dizon, Makati City 2nd District Rep. Luis Campos, Makati City Administrator Atty. Claro Certeza, Ospital ng Makati Medical Director  Dr. Vergel Binay, Makati City Health Officer Dr. Bernard Sese, Dr. Roy Unson of Makati Health Department, and the Department of Health’s Assistant Regional Director Dr. Paz Corrales, Undersecretary Dr. Leopoldo Vega, and Dr. Romeo Ong.

Based on Makati Health Department data, there are 1, 342 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the city as of 9 p.m. of July 12, and a total of 746 recoveries, 492 active cases, and 104 deaths.
