Southwest monsoon continues to bring rain
Rains and the possibility of flooding and rain-induced landslides will continue to prevail across Luzon due to the southwest monsoon, the weather bureau said in a report by Philippine News Agency.
Ilocos Region, Benguet, Abra, Zambales, Bataan, Tarlac, Pampanga, and Occidental Mindoro will experience monsoon rains, or moderate to heavy, with at times intense rains.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) forecasts occasional rains over the rest of Luzon.
Light to moderate, with at times heavy rains is expected over Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Abra, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Oriental Mindoro, and northern Palawan including Calamian Islands.
Occasional gusty winds will be experienced over these areas especially in the coastal and upland localities.
Scattered to widespread flooding and rain-induced landslides are possible during heavy or prolonged rainfall, especially in areas highly susceptible to these hazards.
Meanwhile, the Visayas and Mindanao will experience isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
Moderate to strong winds, moderate to rough seas still prevail over Luzon and the Visayas.
Mindanao, on the other hand, will continue to experience light to moderate winds with slight to moderate seas.
