Some local government units asked for reconsideration about their quarantine status in November, according to the spokesman of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) in a report by GMA News.

DILG Undersecretary Jonathan Malaya, however, refused to reveal which localities made an appeal as their requests must still be processed by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.

President Rodrigo Duterte placed Metro Manila, Batangas, Iloilo City, Bacolod City, Tacloban City, Iligan City, and Lanao Del Sur under general community quarantine from November 1 to 30.

Duterte said most of the local government units preferred to make the community quarantine classifications permanent since they showed good results in lowering COVID-19 cases.
