Scattered rain showers expected across the country
Scattered rain showers will continue to prevail over most parts of the country due to the tail-end of the frontal system affecting the eastern sections of southern Luzon and the Visayas, the weather bureau said Wednesday in a report by Philippine News Agency.
Visayas, Bicol Region, Northern Mindanao, and the Zamboanga Peninsula will continue to experience scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.
The northeast monsoon affecting the rest of Luzon with light rains will be experienced over Cagayan Valley, Aurora, and Quezon, while isolated light rains will prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.
The rest of the country will experience isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.
Strong winds and rough seas will prevail over northern Luzon, while moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will be experienced over the rest of Luzon and the eastern section of the Visayas and Mindanao.
Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
Meanwhile, Tropical Depression Auring was last tracked 700 km. east southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur. It packs maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 70 kph.
Weather forecaster Joey Figuracion said "Auring" is still far, and is forecast to make landfall over Caraga either Saturday or Sunday.
