PNP-CSG opens satellite office in Manila
Security guards particularly those from Manila need not travel to Camp Crame in Quezon City to apply for renewal of licenses and firearms registration as the Philippine National Police on Wednesday opened its Civil Security Group (PNP-CSG) satellite office at the Manila Police District (MPD) headquarters along UN Avenue, according to a report by Philippine News Agency.
PNP-CSG director, Maj. Gen Israel Dickson, said the opening of the satellite office was in line with PNP chief, Gen. Camilo Cascolan’s 9-point strategic agenda specifically on the decentralization of the PNP licensing.
Dickson said the CSG satellite office will bring the PNP services closer to its clients especially those responding to the challenges brought about by the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid19) pandemic.
"We have to plan, do, and act immediately to stay relevant and productive to continue our services throughout the pandemic and beyond while strictly adhering to the health protocols to stay healthy and safe as well," Dickson said.
He said the satellite office will expedite transactions and improve front-line services of the CSG that is in charge of the Firearms and Explosives Office-(FEO) and the Supervisory Office for Security and Investigative Agency (SOSIA).
While every organization witnesses the dramatic changes and immense challenges of the Covid-19, he said the CSG will navigate the right path to sharply shape a new normal in the service to people at the crossroad of the pandemic outbreak.
Gracing the opening of the PNP-CSG satellite office, Cascolan said the PNP wants to serve the people much better.
“Gusto din natin lumapit lalo sa komunidad o (We wanted to be closer to the community or) barangay that's why we are going down. We want to serve our people much better, make it easy for them to come up with their requirements with regards to clearances most especially here,” Cascolan told reporters.
He said Dickson is also working on putting up drive-thru services.
