Maraming supply ng isda sa Metro Manila pero hirap ang mga konsyumer na makabili, lalo na ang mga nanggagaling sa ibang probinsya, dahil sa lockdown sa rehiyon dulot ng COVID-19 pandemic, ayon sa mga awtoridad nitong Biyernes.

Para mapadali ang pagbili, mayroong "isda-on-the-go" delivery na isinusulong ang Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA), kung saan pwede magpa-deliver ng isda mula sa mga fish port katulad ng mga daungan sa Malabon at Navotas.

Ayon sa PFDA, kinuha nila bilang delivery drivers ang mga nawalan ng trabaho na residente ng Malabon at Navotas dahil sa lockdown.

“May mga informal settlers tayong nandiyan sa Navotas fish port. Yung lahat ng ating kasama diyan na may motorsiklo, kalalakihan and healthy, ay tinap na natin na sila na ang mag-deliver ng mga 'isda-on-the-go' all over Metro Manila," ani Glen Pangapalan, general manager ng PFDA.

Irerehistro at dadaan sa training din ang mga rider.

Para sa mga mamimili, 3.5 kilo ang minimum order at may P150 na delivery fee na mapupunta sa rider.

Kapag natapos ang lockdown, itutuloy pa rin umano ng PFDA ang door-to-door delivery system ng isda. Balik rin ng ahensiya na gawing online ang pag-order ng isda.
