The number of Filipinos with no work hit 2.26 million in April, a drop from the 2.42 million estimated a month before, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) said in a report by CNN Philippines.
This is equivalent to a national unemployment rate of 4.5%.
National Statistician Dennis Mapa had been reiterating during previous briefings that the Philippines’ unemployment situation has been recording improvements since the latter part of 2022, with the Marcos administration doing away with hard lockdowns.
