DOH launches Kontra Covid chatbot

The Department of Health (DOH) had launched a chatbot called Kontra COVID or Katuwang na Impormation para sa Responsableng Aksyon (KIRA).

Chatbot is computer program designed to simulate conversation with human users, especially over the Internet.

The KIRA chatbot will answer netizens common queries about COVID-19 by providing fast and reliable information about the disease.

The chatbot will also help the public in conducting self-check assessment to know if they are at risk, provide information on preventive measures against COVID-19, and answer questions on the guidelines of the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) implementation in Luzon.

The KontraCOVID chatbot can be accessed through DOH Facebook page, Viber messaging app, or in KontraCOVID PH web app.

The DOH earlier launched a 24/7 telemedicine hotlines to allow patient consultations with medical doctor for COVID-19 advice and other primary care concerns at 02-8424-1724.

Other DOH hotlines were also opened such as 02-894-COVID (02-894-26843) and 1555 for coronavirus-related concerns.

As of April 23, DOH recorded 6,981 cases of COVID-19 with 462 deaths and 722 recoveries in the country.
