The Commission on Human Rights (CHR) announced the temporary closure of its offices in Quezon City to make way for contact tracing among its personnel and individuals who transacted in the office following the rise in COVID-19 infections, according to a report by GMA News.

In a Saturday advisory, the CHR said physical reporting of its offices to the Central office, National Capital Region, and CHR Region IV-B would be temporarily suspended from January 17 to 21 to give way to contact tracing.

The government placed Metro Manila and around 50 other areas under Alert Level 3 from January 16 to 31 amid the rise in COVID-19 cases.

The Philippines on Friday logged 37,207 new COVID-19 cases, another highest daily tally since the start of the pandemic, increasing the nationwide count to 3,129,512.
