The 11th Civil-Military Operations Battalion of the Philippine Army distributed food packs to needy families amid the enhanced community quarantine due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Army troops provided assistance to the K-Noonas Buy Your Food and AvengersPH groups, represented by Mrs. Charisse Gatmaitan, in the distribution of relief goods to some 100 residents of Barangay 175, Camarin, Caloocan City on Thursday.

“We appreciate the kind gesture of Ms. Gatmaitan’s group, who shared their time and resources to provide the basic needs to our fellowmen” Philippine Army Spokesperson Col. Ramon P. Zagala.

The group followed strict contact transmission protocols to prevent the undue spread of the disease.

Meanwhile, Zagala assured the public that the Philippine Army will continue to extend its support and services.

Along with the goods, an information dissemination and awareness campaign were also held through mobile loudspeaker operations around the vicinity reiterating the importance of enhanced community quarantine and proper hygiene in curbing the spread of the virus.
