The number of Filipinos abroad who tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) rose to 11,117 on October 14 after the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) announced nine new infections, according to a report by GMA News.

According to the DFA, two more Filipino nationals have recovered from the illness, bringing the total to 7,172, while one more fatality brought the death toll to 811.

At present, there are 3,134 patients still undergoing treatment.

Data from the DFA showed a total of 1,742 cases in Asia and the Pacific Region with 507 patients undergoing treatment. The region has reported 1,226 recoveries and nine fatalities.

In the Middle East or Africa, there are 7,356 cases. Patients undergoing treatment in the region were recorded at 2,290 while 4,537 patients have recovered and 529 have died.

A total of 1,209 cases were, meanwhile, recorded in Europe with 171 still undergoing treatment. Recoveries and fatalities in the region were recorded at 943 and 95, respectively.

The Americas have also recorded 810 COVID-19 cases with 166 patients undergoing treatment, 466 recoveries, and 178 deaths.
