According to authorities, the electrical failure is caused by a motor of one of the trains.

The technical problem caused delay in train operations and affected a heavy volume of passengers in North Avenue, Quezon Avenue and Shaw boulevard stations.

By 9 a.m., 15 trains were already reported to be operating with 8.5 minutes headway.
