3 scenarios floated after May 15
The Metro Manila Council is looking at three scenarios after May 15 when the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) is supposed to end.
MMDA General Manager Jojo Garcia said one of their three recommendations is the extension of the ECQ for up to two weeks, or until the end of May.
The second recommendation is for the government to move Metro Manila from ECQ to a general community quarantine (GCQ).
Meanwhile, the third option is a modified combination of an ECQ and a GCQ.
Garcia said areas with a high number of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases will remain under ECQ, while areas with a low number of cases will be placed under GCQ.
The MMDA official assured that the metro mayors are ready to comply with the decision of the IATF.
The MMC is the governing board and policy-making body of the MMDA, and is composed of mayors of all the cities and municipalities in Metro Manila.
