Pagcor to build multi-purpose evacuation center in Caloocan

Isa pang malaking proyekto ang sisimulang itayo sa Caloocan sa ilalim ng administrasyon ni Mayor Oca Malapitan.

Ito ay matapos ganapin ngayong araw ang Groundbreaking Ceremony ng two-storey Multi-Purpose Evacuation Center sa Phase 1 Barangay 171, Caloocan, na pinondohan ng P50 milyon ng Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation o PAGCOR.

Ito ang kauna-unahang PAGCOR Multi-Purpose Rescue Building na itatayo sa buong Metro Manila kaya naman lubos na nagpasalamat si Mayor Oca Malapitan sa pagpili ng PAGCOR sa Lungsod ng Caloocan para maging benepisyaryo nang kapaki-pakinabang at napapanahong proyekto.

"Mapalad po ang Lungsod ng Caloocan sapagkat tiyak na makatutulong ito sa ating Disaster Management and Rescue Operations na siyang magsisilbing ligtas na kanlungan ng ating mga mamamayan sa oras ng pangangailangan," ani Mayor Oca.

Ayon sa Punong-Lungsod, isa ang Disaster Management and Rescue Operations sa kaniyang binibigyan prayoridad simula manungkulan bilang alkalde ng Caloocan, kabilang na riyan ang pagtatag ng 24/7 command center, pagpapatayo ng Rescue Building at pagbili ng mga kagamitan para sa rescue operations.

"Sa ngalan po ng Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Caloocan, nagpapasalamat po kami sa PAGCOR sa pagpili sa aming lungsod bilang kauna-unahang siyudad sa NCR na pagtatayuan ng napakagandang proyektong ito. Asahan po ninyo na ito ay ating pahahalagahan at gagamitin para sa kapakanan ng mga taga-Caloocan," dagdag ng Punong-Lungsod.

Kasama rin dumalo sa groundbreaking ceremony sina Cong. Along Malapitan, PAGCOR Chairperson and CEO Andrea Domingo, PAGCOR Assistant VP for Community Relations Services Ramon Villaflor, PAGCOR Special Projects Division Senior Manager Maria Eliza Cruz, Caloocan City Administrator Engr. Oliver Hernandez, City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management
