The Caloocan City government conducted livelihood programs for stay-at-home individuals, solo parents, and senior citizens, according to a report by Manila Bulletin.

The Public Employment Service Office held free training in Barangay 82 and Barangay 89, which started early this week.

Residents were taught how to make dishwashing liquid, and other livelihood projects.

“Sa lahat ng ating mga kababayan na hindi makapag-trabaho dahil hindi qualified o dahil kinakailangang mamalagi sa bahay, magiging tuloy-tuloy po ang ating livelihood programs para mabigyan din kayo ng oportunidad na kumita at magkaroon ng pagkakabuhayan (For all our residents who are unable to work because they are not qualified or because they have to stay at home, our livelihood programs will continue in order to give you the opportunity to earn and have sources of income),” Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan said.

Malapitan said he recognizes that not all citizens are equipped to be employed, and that to fulfill his promise of “lahat kasama,” the city government will be relentless in providing opportunities to their sectors.

The next livelihood training activity is scheduled on July 19 in Barangay 118, South Caloocan, and Barangay 176, North Caloocan.

The said livelihood project is part of the recovery program of the mayor.
