Caloocan aids Barangay 73 fire victims
The local government of Caloocan City will continue to aid the families of Barangay 73, Mayor Oscar Malapitan said on Thursday.
Around 100 families were left homeless after a fire raged through Barangay 73, destroying at least 50 houses.
The city government, led by the mayor, distributed tents, dignity kits, and financial assistance to the victims.
Malapitan ordered the City Social Welfare and Development Office to feed the victims every day until they recover from the disaster.
Portable toilets have been placed in the covered court, where the fire victims are temporarily staying.
“We are grateful for the continued protection and aid extended by Mayor Oca and other city officials,” said Barangay 73 kagawad Milan Lactud.
On Wednesday, Mayor Malapitan, Rep. Along Malapitan, and Senator Christopher “Bong” Go personally visited the fire victims.
