500 Caloocan students get cash assistance
Around 500 first year college students from the University of Caloocan City (UCC) Camarin Campus received P2,000 educational cash assistance from the office of Caloocan City District 1 Rep. Oscar “Oca” Malapitan on Sept. 20, according to a report by Manila Bulletin.
The office of Rep. Malapitan started the distribution of the cash aid to the students on Tuesday, in coordination with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
It will prioritize the freshmen students then the second year college students from the UCC.
According to District 1 Councilor Enteng Malapitan, who represented the congressman during the distribution, Rep. Malapitan aims to focus on the city’s education sector, so he continues to collaborate with different agencies that promote programs for the children in the city.
Meanwhile, the congressman assured that he will continue to coordinate with the DSWD so that more UCC students will be given financial assistance for their education.
