Some sections of EDSA and C-5 Road will be closed to give way to repair work over the weekend, the Department of Public Works and Highways announced Friday.
As part of the continuous road rehabilitation works in Metro Manila’s main roads, three sections of EDSA and two of C-5 will be affected starting Friday night, DPWH-National Capital Region Director Ador Canlas said.
Road reblocking activities will be conducted at the southbound direction of EDSA from New York Street to Monte De Piedad Street; as well as the highway’s northbound direction fronting Philippine College of Surgeons and Quezon City Academy, first lane from sidewalk; and from Light Mall first lane to Jollibee Service Road, second lane.
Further, two sections of C-5, specifically the southbound direction after Lanuza Avenue before Bagong Ilog Flyover and in front of SM Aura in Taguig City will also be repaired.
The northbound directions of Fairview Avenue from Atherton to Regalado Avenue North first lane from center island; and Ramon Magsaysay Boulevard from Ramon Magsaysay Bridge to Pureza Street, going to Quiapo will also be affected.
Motorists are advised to take alternate routes due to the expected traffic congestion at the construction areas.
The road sections are expected to be opened by 5 a.m. Monday.
